Our colour consultants, kitchen designers, electrical designers and other interior consultants work with you to make sure that your home reflects your personality.

Step by step guide to a Peter Ray Home.


Say hello.

Visit us at one of our show homes. You’ll meet one of our consultants there and they’ll take you through everything you need to know about building your home with us. Your consultant will also become your main point of contact throughout the entire build process.


Consider your design options.

We know that one size doesn’t fit everyone so we have a range of options to suit your lifestyle and budget.

You can select a home from one of our standard plans, with either our Gold or Platinum specification.

Our in house design team can alter a standard plan to fit your site or tailor it to better suit your needs.

Or we can design your home from scratch based upon your site and specific brief you provide.


Brief us on what you want.

Your consultant will meet with you and listen to your brief. They will then do an initial layout sketch, which along with your brief will go to our designers to draw up.


Fine tune your design.

The concept design for your home will be presented to you by your consultant and you can discuss any changes with them. These changes then go back to our design team to be drawn up before being presented back to you.


Confirming the quote.

Once you have confirmed your plans, we seek pricing from our suppliers and then your consultant will provide you with a fixed price quote to build your home.


Building consent prepared.

Our design team will put together a building consent application on your behalf and submit it to Council.


Choose your fixtures and fittings.

Whilst we’re dealing with all the paperwork you’ll visit our design consultants and decide on the fittings for your kitchen, bathroom, lights, floor coverings and all of the other finishes like wall colours. You have freedom of choice here as none of these have to be from a standard specification.


Building consent is approved.

Once your building consent is approved, our administration team will put together all quotes, variations to the quotes and the consented plans so you know exactly where everything is at.


Final contract prepared.

We will prepare a final contract for you to sign. Once you’ve signed on the dotted line your home will be given to one of our builders to bring to life for you.


Build begins

Every week your customer services manager will call you to keep you updated with progress on your house. You can ask any questions that you have and all changes you wish to make will be followed up on.


Walk throughs.

As your house nears completion you’ll have a couple of walk throughs with our construction manager so you can check over your home.


Move in.

This is the day you’ve been waiting to come for so long. Once your house has been completed to our exceptionally high standards we’ll hand over the keys and you can move into your new home.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes. Peter Ray Homes Ltd is a member of the Registered Master Builders Association. We offer a 10 year standard Master Builder Guarantee on each home that we build. Our company promotes the use of high quality local products and materials.

Will you advise on us choosing a section?

Yes. In fact it is good to contact us before the buying decision has been made. We can advise you on this important decision and make sure that the site is suitable for your house plans.

Do you offer a fixed price contract?

Yes. Once the planning stage has been completed and costing has been done the price will be fixed.

Can we make changes to the plans?

A: Yes. We are completely flexible and will design and build a house that integrates your preferences and reflects your needs. Every house we build is unique.

How long will it take you to build our home?

Our average build time depends on the size and complexity of your home.

Who applies for the building consents?

Peter Ray Homes Ltd prepares and applies for the building consent as your agent.

Will you custom design a house for us?

Yes. We employ a team of fully qualified designers who will produce a completely individual design to suit your individual needs.
